THE EXPLORER
Fluid effects for real-time environments
The Explorer
Its primary mission is to study and utilize ion engine technology, a cutting-edge form of electric propulsion that allows for efficient and prolonged space travel.
Genre:
Sci-Fi Adventure, Fantasy.
Contribution:
Animation, VFX and sound design.
Spacecraft Propulsion
Study and design of the ion engine, which is
a form of electric propulsion used for the spacecraft time travel.
I designed this natural environment simulation system to generate fluid effects for real-time environments that can be used in games and cinematics. It combined procedural tools including Houdini with Unreal Engine 5. The latter is used as the hub that handle all the sound design made to drive particles simulation and trigger them in real time to achieve the desired result for the simulation.
VFX Breakdown
Ion thrusters
At the heart of The Explorer is the ion engine, a revolutionary piece of technology that utilizes ionized particles for propulsion. The engine room is a high-tech marvel, with transparent walls that allow a view of the engine's inner workings. Pulsating blue lights indicate the ionization process, while intricate machinery hums with energy.

Initial environment
The Explorer is currently grounded in a vast, futuristic human park, a serene and friendly environment filled with lush greenery and diverse habitats. This park is a blend of nature and and flowing mystical energy, symbolizing humanity's harmonious coexistence with technology.
